Derek imported the Model T from Australia in 2000.  Amazingly this car has only had 2 owners and both from the same family.  The car was restored in 1970 and is very different from the UK and USA models.  The T's chassis, engine and running gear were all exported from Canada to Australia in flat pack form.  It arrived in Sydney in June 1915 and was then bodied by a local company, Duncan & Co.  Australia would not allow imports of finished vehicles as they saw this as a threat to their own fledgeling motor industry.  The car has very deep upholstered seats to make up for the lack of propper roads out there.  It has a top speed of 60mph and takes about two weeks to stop (according to Derek)

"The £100 Ford", Yes, a brand new family sallon for £100 !  In 1936 a factory reconditioned engine, fitted by a Ford Garage, would set you back £5.10/-, that's £5.50 in todays money and was guaranteed to be done in a day.  This car was originally sold by R S Nicol, then of Buckhaven, and the cars first 12 owners were all from Fife.  The present owner purchased the car in Glasgow in 1976.  Restored over the past three years, the car has never needed any welding or filler!  Not quite up to modern cars performance though, acceleration figures are 0 - 40 mph in 32 seconds.  Braking is 40 mph to 0 in 32 minutes, slightly superior to the model T !!!  ..........."now  -  now boys"

Wm Andersons rebored the engine, skimmed the cylinder head and reamed the stub pin bushes.

Chassis and engine built in Glasgow. The 35 seater body was built in Portsmouth and then shipped over to Jersey, where it spent 24 years in service on the Island.  After a few years lying i a field in Jersey, it was brought back to the mainland, where it lay in a barn in Lincoln for over 20 years until purchased and restored by the present owner at The Scottish Vintage Bus Museum at Lathalmond, Dunfermline, Fife, Scotland.

Wm Anderson skimmed the cylinder head.
